LYNDA L. WEATHERMAN
PRESIDENT & CEO, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF FLORIDA’S SPACE COAST, ROCKLEDGE
Weatherman has been the president and CEO of the Space Coast Economic Development Commission since 1994. The EDC is dedicated to attracting new business and investment and expanding existing industry throughout Brevard County, influencing laws and regulations affecting economic development, and supporting efforts of Space Coast military installations, manufacturing and high-tech companies. Since 2010, the EDC’s efforts have resulted in 17,989 new and retained jobs and a $1.8 billion capital investment. The organization employs about 20. Her team led a successful economic renewal after the retirement of the space shuttle program and helped lead community efforts to illustrate that the Space Coast was the best location for the U.S. Space Force STARCOM Headquarters. In 2007, Weatherman received the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, the highest honor NASA awards to both government and non-government employees.
