Tobin has been president and CEO of Fairwinds for 22 years. The credit union’s 600-plus employees serve 240,000 members around the world. “I don’t know of another financial institution that teaches their members how to pay off debt as fast as possible and celebrates when they do,” he says. “We’re not afraid to be different.”
EDUCATION: Rollins College (BA, MBA)
Hobby: Music, in particular, the piano. I studied and earned my BA in music from Rollins and even played piano at our church for 10 years.
MENTEE IMPACT: Years ago, I introduced “Larry’s Debt-Free Club,” an internal program rewarding and celebrating crewmembers when they save more, eliminate debt, build wealth, and live generously. I can’t tell you how many messages I’ve personally received from our crewmembers over the years, sharing their Money Milestones from building savings to making their last mortgage payment.
