SCOTT REMINGTON
SHAREHOLDER & IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT, CLARK PARTINGTON LAW FIRM, PENSACOLA
Clark Partington is the largest general practice law firm in the Panhandle. Founded in 1976, the firm has grown to over 30 lawyers and 90 total employees. Remington is the general counsel for Triumph Gulf Coast, the organization that administers Florida’s share of the BP oil spill settlement money to diversify and enhance the region’s economy. To date, Triumph has awarded $759 million to regional projects and has attracted $1.6 billion in matching funds, Remington says, leading to the creation of 7,800 high wage jobs and 78,000 high skill certifications to people living in the region. “The impact of the project on Northwest Florida and the state is truly transformational,” Remington says.
EDUCATION: University of the South (BA), Florida State University (JD)
FIRST JOB: Counting paper clips and sharpening pencils in my father’s law office. I was proud to follow in his footsteps.
DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I would choose coaching high school football as my alternate career. Coaching makes a tremendous impact on young people, and there are so many great life lessons in football.
SOMETHING SURPRISING: Most people do not know that my beautiful and talented wife Amie asked me out on our first date. That only happened because I knew she was out of my league, and she didn’t — at that time. She is also the best lawyer in my house.
