Miller Construction Company was founded in 1973 and has become a prominent general contractor with offices in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Miller has completed more than 600 commercial projects across several sectors including office, industrial, automotive, multifamily, manufacturing and distribution, retail, healthcare, higher education and hospitality. Miller was recently recognized by History Fort Lauderdale as “Trailblazers” for the company’s decades of community service and support.

EDUCATION: University of Florida (BS)

FIRST JOB: My first job was working as a construction laborer for my dad’s general contracting business in Orlando, which fueled my interest and eventual passion for construction.

HOBBIES: Hobbies that I enjoy are hands down, boating and fishing. I love being on the water, I love fishing with my wife and kids. Most of our family vacations involve visiting remote places on the water, especially in the Bahamas.

INDUSTRY TREND: There are a few trends in construction worth noting. We continue to innovate and use technology to make the process more efficient and safer, which helps streamline schedules and reduce costs. A constrained labor market continues, so workforce development is important as not every job can be replaced by AI. We also have some headwinds regarding project financing. There is some market volatility due to the uncertainty of where tariffs will land, and the costs of borrowing make creativity really important to make a project pencil. Our clients make us part of that process, increasing the chances of success.
