Real Estate
DANIEL WEINSTEIN
CEO, BASIS INDUSTRIAL, BOCA RATON
Founded in 2021, Basis Industrial is a privately held real estate operator that owns more than 6 million square feet of industrial and self-storage real estate, with 2–3 million more expected by late 2025. It employs 45 people. Weinstein is an active participant in Love Serving Autism, a not-for-profit focused on providing tennis skills and engagement to children in a fun and motivational setting.
EDUCATION: University of Florida (BS, JD), University of Colorado (BA)
FIRST JOB: Sweeping floors in my grandfather’s fur warehouse, where I learned the value of precision — “measure twice, cut once” — a lesson I carry into every real estate deal today.
DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: If I weren’t in real estate, I’d still be building something — possibly a business focused on helping small businesses scale or a venture in the sports or wellness space.
NONPROFIT PASSION: Love Serving Autism, a nonprofit that helps individuals with autism and developmental disabilities by providing specialized therapeutic racquet sports interventions.
INDUSTRY TREND: Rising institutional interest in the small-bay industrial sector is one of the most notable trends. This niche has proven highly resilient amid broader market volatility. At Basis Industrial, we’ve leaned into this trend by expanding our portfolio in Florida and Texas, positioning the company for long-term growth with steady cash flows and reliable tenant retention.
SOMETHING SURPRISING: I’m driven by structure and strategy, but I’m equally inspired by creativity. I’ve always been fascinated by design — how space, light and flow influence behavior — which informs how I evaluate and envision industrial properties.
