FOUNDER & CEO, ONE SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY, COCONUT GROVE

ONE Sotheby’s International Realty specializes in luxury real estate and development all along Florida’s East Coast, with 31 offices spanning from the beaches of Miami to Jacksonville and Amelia Island. De la Vega, the first Cuban female Sotheby’s franchise owner, founded it in 2008. It has 1,400 agents.

EDUCATION: Florida International University (BA)

FIRST JOB: My first job at Burger King taught me humility and the value of hard work. I later worked in marketing for an aerospace defense company alongside my father, where I learned discipline, strategy, and how to lead with purpose.

DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I’d pursue a career in architecture or interior design. I’ve always been drawn to beautiful spaces and how thoughtful design can elevate how we live.

MENTEE IMPACT: A young woman from Cuba used to do my hair and often shared her dream of working in real estate. She had incredible discipline and drive. I encouraged her to follow her passion. Over time, I watched her study, join networking groups, and invest in coaching. Today, she’s a successful agent who tells me I inspired her journey. Seeing her transform her life has been incredibly rewarding.
