MANAGING PARTNER, MERRIMAC VENTURES, FORT LAUDERDALE

Merrimac Ventures builds hotels, condos, apartments and mixed-use projects and has a pipeline of billions of dollars in active projects. Motwani also is the founder of Ramesh Properties and Chieftain Residential, distressed real estate investment funds. Motwani got an early education in business growing up with his brother Nitin in the Fort Lauderdale motel his parents owned. After his father’s death in 1994, his mother and Florida 500 Legend Ramola Motwani continued to grow the family’s portfolio of motels and hotels and eventually transitioned into development.

IF I WERE GOVERNOR: I’d find a way to reduce insurance costs as they are strangling businesses and families at the same time and putting a damper on economic prosperity.
