Malcolm Butters
PRESIDENT, BUTTERS CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT, COCONUT CREEK
Over the last 30 years, Butters’ company has built more than 20 million square feet of mostly industrial properties and logistics centers with a value of more than $1.5 billion. The company has been honored six times as “Developer of the Year” by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties South Florida. Its reach covers much of South Florida, including nearing completion on Southwest Florida’s largest industrial park, the 300-acre Gulf Landing & Logistics Park, a $350-million project which will deliver 2.4 million square feet. Butters earned a graduate degree in real estate from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami. He founded the company with his brother, Mark, who serves as the vice president of construction and chief financial officer. Butters established the Malcolm & Catherine Butters Real Estate Scholarship in 2014 to help students at FIU’s Hollo School of Real Estate reduce student debt.
