In 1986, Colombo founded the CMC Group, a residential and commercial real estate development company headquartered in Miami. It employs 25. Colombo is recognized as being one of the developers who ignited interest in Miami as a destination for luxury buyers with his Brickell Avenue towers, Bristol Tower and Santa Maria. Last year, CMC Group topped off construction at Onda, a boutique condominium in Bay Harbor Islands. The company’s latest project is Vita at Grove Isle, a 65-unit ultra-luxury condo building on a private island located just offshore from Coconut Grove.

MY MENTOR: Real estate developer Donald (Don) Soffer is not just my mentor but a friend who I greatly respect. As the mastermind behind the city of Aventura, In the 60s, he transformed what essentially was underutilized Florida swamp land into one of the tri-county area’s most prominent cities with a mall, office buildings and condo towers.
